In 2018, the Consumer Council and the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department conducted field tests on 12 models of storage-type electric water heaters on the market. It can be seen from the report that all electric water heaters passed the safety test, but all the test samples failed to continuously supply hot water for more than 10 minutes, and one model only lasted less than 4.5 minutes.

Among them, the shower-type "Hotpool" and "German Pool" can continuously supply hot water for a longer time, with the longest time being 9.8 minutes. The "Pacific" brand electric water heater performs the least, taking 23 minutes. Preheating only provides 3.9 minutes of continuous warmth.
